Devold Test Lab

Tested outdoors. Always.

Fridtjof Nansen, Roald Amundsen - and you?

The steep mountains that surround our headquarters and the fierce forces of nature that rule the ocean next to us, have served as our test lab since 1853. Since the beginning, Devold's products have been tested by people who push the boundaries for what is humanly possible.

The first to put our products to the test were fishermen along the rugged Norwegian coast and the very first polar explorers. In 1911, Roald Amundsen was not only the first one to reach the South Pole, he was also one of our product testers.

Today our clothes are tested by modern adventurers on adventures across the South Pole, aboard a sailboat en route to Greenland, under a kite in Lofoten and thousands of other places in the wild. Our collections have been chosen to climbe all the highest mountain peaks in the world and kept polar explorers warm and comfortable for centuries.

The same way an adventurer constantly sets new goals, our passion for creating the very best product is never quenched. We always aim to improve our products - and we do so through honest feedback from the most important testers of them all: Our customers - from each and every one who uses our garments in the environment they are created to withstand.

Among them, we have now selected a number of testers who will receive products for testing – who’ll test our clothes before they end up with you.
