The factory has been in our ownership ever since inception. If you buy Devold, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that the people who have produced your clothes have a good working environment.
We’re international pioneers in the development of innovative merino wool designed for outdoor enthusiasts, adventurers, and professionals working in demanding environments. What’s our secret? Uncompromising quality.
All Devold clothing is traceable, with over 60 per cent being traceable all the way back to the farm where the wool came from. Our garments carry the name of the farm that produced the wool. This means you can be sure that your wool is produced ethically.
People are at the heart of Devold. The people we have chosen and the people who choose us. At Devold, we’re like a family and no bigger than a clan. For almost 200 years, Devold has been nurturing a reputation as an employer that believes that everyone working for us should feel good in the workplace.
Sustainability is not a trend. For us, it’s a matter of course. It’s the very foundation on which Devold rests. It’s about us firmly believing that nature has the answer to the climate problems caused by the textile industry. It’s about selecting materials that biodegrade when a garment’s life is over.
The first women at Devold laid the foundation for the society in which we live. Today, women account for 67 per cent of Devold of Norway’s staff, and half of our management team are women. At UAB Devold, the proportion of women is 91%.
Opting for Devold means opting for natural materials. Wool is nature’s own little miracle and has properties that can’t be recreated in a laboratory.
Choices since 1853
We at Devold have made choices for 167 years. We opt for long-term relationships with our employees, methods that are gentle on both animals and the environment, and, where possible, we decide against using plastic. We make choices that create a better future for us and our planet.
