Our production is like an open book: each garment has its own story that you can trace all the way back to the sheep that produced the wool. We take you on a journey from sheep grazing on large swathes of land to our own Oeko-Tex-certified factory in Europe, where our garments are knitted by the happy people working for us. The next chapter will take you to the Sunnmøre Alps and the region’s harsh weather conditions: this is where we test our garments to ensure that they are of such a high quality that they can keep you warm on all your adventures, regardless of the weather. Our continuing story is going to be one that you write – Devold’s clothes won’t only keep you warm, you’ll also be able to wear them in good conscience.
At Devold, we design clothes based on the following concept: Clothes should be created to last. Designs should be timeless so they don’t go out of fashion.
If we choose clothes made from natural materials, that break down once the garment reaches the end of its life, then we’re looking after not just ourselves, but also generations to come.
Since wool quality depends on sheep welfare, the farms we work with always abide by the Five Freedoms for Animal Welfare.
For almost two centuries, we’ve explored wool for the natural, yet incredible, properties that this material has to offer.
Our production is like an open book: each garment has its own story that you can trace all the way back to the farm that produced the wool.
There’s always a natural alternative, and we use innovation to create products able to compete with synthetic garments.
